Speeding ambulance jumps red signal, rams into bike killing couple in Bengaluru

PTC News Desk: A speeding ambulance collided with several vehicles in Bengaluru late Saturday night, leaving two people dead.


The accident occurred near Wilson Garden when an ambulance coming from Richmond Circle jumped a red light and hit multiple two-wheelers. A couple was killed on the spot, while two others sustained injuries.


The victims were identified as Ismail (40) and Sameen Banu, who were riding a scooter when they were struck by the ambulance. Witnesses reported that the vehicle dragged their scooter for several metres before crashing into a traffic police kiosk. Police confirmed that no patient was on board at the time of the accident.


After the crash, angry locals gathered at the scene, overturned the ambulance, and accused the driver of reckless driving and misuse of the siren. Residents also alleged that this was the second such incident in the area in recent months. The Wilson Garden Traffic Police have detained the driver, identified as Ashok, and initiated an investigation.
