Three killed, one critical after BMW falls off Mumbais Coastal Road Bridge
The Mumbai Coastal Road is a 10.58-km high-speed road that connects Marine Drive in south Mumbai with the Worli end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
PTC News Desk: Three people were killed and another was critically injured after a BMW crashed through the Mumbai Coastal Road bridge and fell onto the road below.
The accident took place at around 5:20 am on Sunday. According to the Coastal Road Control Room, the black BMW was travelling from Marine Drive towards Haji Ali when the driver reportedly lost control, possibly due to speeding, and the car fell from the bridge.
All four occupants were rushed to the civic-run Nair Hospital. Doctors declared three of them dead on arrival.
Two of the victims were identified as 21-year-old Shanay Gajjal and a 17-year-old boy. The third deceased, a man believed to be around 25 years old, had not been identified, an official said.
The fourth occupant, an unidentified man believed to be around 20, suffered serious injuries and remains in critical condition in the hospital’s trauma ward.
Police have started an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
