UP woman, lover kill husband, chop body with grinder and dump in drain

PTC News Desk: The Uttar Pradesh Police have solved a disturbing blind murder case in Sambhal district involving a woman and her lover who allegedly planned and executed the killing of her husband and disposed of his body in parts. The crime, initially appearing carefully orchestrated, was exposed due to a critical lapse, leading to the arrest of the accused wife, Ruby, and her partner, Gaurav.
The case surfaced on December 15 when Chandausi Kotwali police recovered a badly decomposed torso stuffed inside a black bag from behind an Idgah on Patroua Road. The body was missing its head and limbs, posing a major challenge for identification. During forensic examination, investigators noticed a tattoo reading “Rahul” on the arm, which provided the first key lead. Police then reviewed missing persons records and found that Ruby had reported her husband Rahul missing on November 24 within the same police jurisdiction.
When Ruby was called in to identify the remains, she denied that the recovered clothes belonged to her husband. However, inconsistencies in her statements and her uneasy behaviour raised suspicion. The investigation took a decisive turn when police examined her mobile phone and discovered photographs of Ruby with a man wearing the same T-shirt found with the torso. This matching clothing became crucial evidence.
Confronted with the photographs and clothing, Ruby confessed to the crime and admitted to having an affair with Gaurav. She told police that on the night of November 17–18, she had called Gaurav to her house. Around 2 am, Rahul returned home unexpectedly and found them together. During the ensuing argument, Ruby struck Rahul on the head with a heavy object, killing him instantly.
To cover up the murder, the two allegedly planned to dispose of the body. Gaurav procured a cutter machine the following day, and together they dismembered the body. Ruby then bought two large black bags. Police said the head and limbs were packed into one bag and dumped into the Ganga near Rajghat, about 50 kilometres from Chandausi, while the torso was placed in another bag and abandoned behind the Idgah on Patroua Road.
In an attempt to mislead investigators, Ruby later filed a missing person complaint for Rahul on November 24.
