Woman dancer assaulted at wedding for resisting grooms relatives advances

The video has gone viral and sparked anger online. Police say they are looking into the matter, but no FIR had been filed at the time of the report.

PTC News Desk: A woman dancer at a pre-wedding event in Pachgaon village, Nuh, was attacked after she objected to a relative of the groom misbehaving with her. A video shows the man trying to touch her inappropriately. She slapped his hand away, and he then hit her.


Soon after, several people in the crowd joined in and beat her and the other dancers, even tearing their clothes. Members of their team eventually managed to pull them to safety. The video has gone viral and sparked anger online. Police say they are looking into the matter, but no FIR had been filed at the time of the report.


The video shows a man waving currency notes and bringing his hand too close to a dancer, which made her push it away. Upset, he hit her, leading to a fight. Many performers have spoken out in support of the dancer, praising her for standing up for herself and condemning the harassment they face during shows.


“These artists should not be shamed. They are someone’s sisters and daughters and should not be trolled,” said Nuh dancer Billi.
