PTC News Desk: At least 10 patients were killed and 11 staff members were injured after a massive fire broke out at a hospital in Odisha's Cuttack early on Monday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said. The blaze, suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, erupted in the trauma care unit.

The Odisha government has ordered a judicial enquiry into the incident.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the blaze started around 3 am on the first floor of the trauma care unit, where 23 patients were undergoing treatment.

Initially, seven people were killed in the fire at the trauma ward before the rescue operation started, and three others later died after inhaling smoke triggered by the fire, he said.
