PTC News Desk: Haryana based YouTuber Armaan Malik, has received death threats for himself and his children. He was also asked to pay ₹1 crore as ransom over a phone call. The caller warned him that if he didn’t pay, they would “show him a miracle.”
The YouTuber said that he has filed a complaint with the police. He added that for the past 20 days he has been receiving such calls and messages.
He suspects that someone close to him may be involved, as the callers have also been contacting his wives. Armaan said, “Now this has crossed all limits. I hope the police will take action soon.” He said the threats, coming from foreign numbers, started about 20 days ago when he travelled to Dubai. Since he was busy, he couldn’t answer most calls.
Armaan said that when he didn’t answer, the callers phoned his wife Kritika. Then they called his close friend Suraj Bhatia and asked him to tell Armaan to answer the calls. After that, they called his second wife Payal Malik. Payal runs her own business and usually picks up all calls, so she answered. They later sent messages to her as well.
Armaan said he is receiving calls from two foreign numbers and has been sent nearly 50 voice notes. He has given both numbers to the police. He said, “I have no enmity with anyone.”
Armaan said, “I had been ignoring this for many days. Today they issued a death threat. They said if they can’t get hold of me, they will go after my children — kids who don’t even know anything about the world.”
Armaan said, “The people threatening me are not gangsters, because they never used any gangster’s name. Now I’m worried about my children’s safety. We can protect ourselves, but we can’t lock up our kids inside the house.”
He added that he has filed a complaint at Zirakpur police station and even approached the Mohali SSP office, but no case has been registered yet. “I don’t understand what the police are waiting for,” he said.
