Parkash Singh Badal will contest from Lambi, says Harsimrat Kaur Badal

Amritsar, January 26: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Wednesday announced that former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal would contest the Punjab Assembly elections 2022 from Lambi.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal along with SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal were in Amritsar on Wednesday, where she made the announcement of Parkash Singh Badal contesting from Lambi. The Punjab Assembly elections are scheduled for February 20

On her brother and SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia's alleged involvement in the drugs case in which the Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed his anticipatory bail plea, but provided him three-day protection from arrest, Harsimrat Kaur Badal said," I today prayed at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib that if my brother Bikram Singh Majithia has indulged in any way in even a pinch of drugs, Guru Sahib inflict most horrible punishment on each & every member of our family."

Earlier, SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday accused the Congress of doing politics on the issue of sacrilege. He also slammed those who attempted sacrilege and those who are doing politics on it.

After paying obeisance at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, the SAD president alleged that the sole objective of the Congress was to tarnish the image of the Shiromani Akali Dal, the representative body of 'Panth'.
