Petrol and Diesel Prices in India Today: The Petrol and diesel prices in India have been hiked across the metros on Thursday, June 24, according to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).
In New Delhi, the petrol prices increased by 26 paise from Rs 97.50 per litre to Rs 97.76 per litre while the diesel prices have become dearer by 7 paise from Rs 88.23 per litre to Rs 88.30 per litre.

In Mumbai, the petrol rate is at Rs 103.89 per litre while diesel costs Rs 95.79 per litre. The fuel prices vary across the states in India on the basis of value-added tax.

The state-run oil marketing companies align the rates of domestic fuel with that of the global crude oil prices. These companies are - IOC, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum.
The rates are aligned keeping in mind the changes in foreign exchange rates. Any changes in petrol and diesel prices in India are implemented with effect from 6 am every day.
The Brent crude futures have increased by 9 cents, or 0.1 percent to $75.28 a barrel while the US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures have gained 6 cents, or 0.1 percent, to $73.14 a barrel.
