PGI Chandigarh second-best medical college after Delhi AIIMS: Centre

NIRF ranking 2021: Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI Chandigarh) is the second-best medical college after Delhi’s All India Institute Of Medical Science (AIIMS), said Ministry of Education's annual ranking on Thursday.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has retained the top spot among institutes in India. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, has ranked the best among research institutions, according to the Ministry of Education's NIRF ranking announced.

In the sixth edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) announced by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, 8 IITs and two National Institutes of Technology (NITs) have been featured in the top 10 engineering institutions in India.

On the other hand, AIIMS Delhi has bagged the top spot among medical colleges, followed by PGI Chandigarh, and Christian Medical College, Vellore.

Likewise, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has been ranked as the best B-School, while Jamia Hamdard has been declared the top institution for pharmacy studies, as per the NIRF ranking 2021.

Recommended ways to make process more credible in NIRF ranking

Among colleges, Miranda House in Delhi bagged the top spot while Lady Sri Ram College for Women, Delhi, was second and Loyola College, Chennai, third.
