PTC Web Desk: In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, BJP's Anuppur district chief, Ramdas Puri, resumed wearing footwear on Saturday after a six-year vow to go barefoot until the party secured victory in the state, following the recent resounding success in the Assembly polls.

Ramdas Puri, who had vowed not to wear shoes until the BJP formed a government in 2017, finally ended his pledge in the presence of former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Chouhan recalled how Puri decided to forgo footwear in 2017 until the BJP attained power in the state. Even after the BJP's return to power in 2020 following the collapse of the Kamal Nath-led Congress government, Puri continued his barefoot vow, as mentioned in a video shared on Chouhan's official social media account.

Praising Puri's unwavering dedication, Shivraj Singh Chouhan mentioned, "Ramdas Puri ji is a hardworking and dedicated party worker, who had given up wearing shoes and slippers since 2017. For six years, he remained barefoot in every season - summer, winter, or rain. His resolution has been fulfilled."

With the recent BJP landslide victory in the Assembly elections, securing 163 out of 230 seats, the party retained power in Madhya Pradesh. The opposition Congress secured 66 seats, while one seat was won by the Bharat Adivasi Party.
