‘Dimagi Naxal Party’ Instagram account vanishes after gaining 1.6 lakh followers overnight
The Instagram account ‘Dimagi Naxal Party’ gained over 1.6 lakh followers within a day before disappearing. The account surfaced after PM Modi used the term ‘dimagi Naxal’ in his Independence Day speech
PTC Web Desk: An Instagram account named ‘Dimagi Naxal Party’ appeared suddenly and attracted more than 1.6 lakh followers within a day, before disappearing from the platform. The account had around 62 posts and was following nearly 35 accounts when it was visible on Instagram.
The account's information indicated that it had been created earlier this month. Instagram's account history also showed that its username had been changed once. There was no clear information available about who was operating the account.

The sudden appearance of the Instagram handle came shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to ‘dimagi Naxals’ during his Independence Day address. While speaking about India's fight against Maoism, PM Modi said the government had succeeded in eliminating armed Naxals from forest areas and reducing the threat posed by the insurgency. However, he cautioned that another challenge remained.
Referring to them as ‘dimagi Naxals’, or intellectual Naxals, the Prime Minister said such elements were still present and could pose a danger from within society.
The term subsequently drew attention online, with the ‘Dimagi Naxal Party’ Instagram account also gaining followers at a rapid pace.
