PTC Web Desk: Celebrity astrologer Radhan Pandit, known for accurately predicting actor Vijay’s emergence as a major political force in Tamil Nadu, has now been appointed as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Tamil Nadu government, drawing nationwide attention to his long-standing association with the actor-politician.

The development comes months after Pandit publicly backed Vijay’s political entry and forecast a dramatic rise for Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.

On May 4, when early election trends indicated a strong debut for TVK, Radhan Pandit was seen arriving at Vijay’s Neelankarai residence in Chennai carrying a bouquet and ceremonial shawl. Visuals of the astrologer meeting Vijay quickly went viral on social media, reigniting discussions around his past political predictions.

Astrologer who backed Vijay before his political rise

Radhan Pandit, originally known as Pandit Vettrivel, has been practising Vedic astrology, numerology and spiritual consultation for over four decades. Though he hails from South India, he shifted his base to Delhi in 2008 and later adopted the name Radhan Pandit.

Over the years, he has built a reputation as a political astrologer with clients across party lines, including leaders from the BJP, Congress, DMK and AIADMK. He has often spoken about his close admiration for veteran BJP leader LK Advani, whom he considers a guiding influence.

However, it was his repeated predictions about Vijay’s political future that brought him into the spotlight once again.

'Tsunami-like strength': How he predicted Vijay’s success

In 2024, Radhan Pandit released a widely discussed YouTube analysis on Vijay’s political transition through Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam. At a time when many political observers questioned the actor’s electoral potential, Pandit strongly defended Vijay’s entry into politics.

He claimed that Vijay’s horoscope carried “tsunami-like” strength for political success and argued that the actor possessed the qualities required to become Tamil Nadu’s future chief minister.

Pandit had also stated that the name “Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam” aligned powerfully with Vijay’s date of birth and numerological profile, which, according to him, would contribute significantly to the party’s success.

In the same video, he predicted a major political rivalry between Vijay and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin and claimed that by the 2026 Assembly elections, Vijay would emerge as a “major power” in Tamil Nadu politics.

As TVK began gaining traction in public discourse and election trends started favouring the party, many supporters revisited Pandit’s earlier statements, calling his predictions “accurate” and “visionary.”

Link with Jayalalithaa

Radhan Pandit has also claimed to have shared a close professional relationship with former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. According to him, he had correctly predicted her sweeping electoral victory in 1991.

He later reportedly warned her about a politically difficult phase beginning in 1994, which allegedly led to differences between the two.
