Apex court orders clubbing of all FIRs against Congress leader

New Delhi, February 23: The Supreme Court on Thursday granted interim bail to Congress leader Pawan Khera, who was deplaned and arrested at the Delhi airport in the morning. He was  granted interim bail after after his dramatic arrest at the Delhi airport. He was deplaned from an IndiGo flight to Chhattisgarh over an alleged insult to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

After the arrest of the Congress leader, party men moved the Supreme Court.

The row

Pawan Khera was arrested over his controversial remarks at a media briefing recently. He had flubbed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's name while seeking a probe into the Adani-Hindernburg controversy. 

"If Narasimha Rao could join a Joint Parliamentary Committee, if Atal Bihari Vajpayee could form JPC, then what problem does Narendra Gautam Das...sorry..Damodardas...Modi have?" he was reported as saying.

However, the Congress argued in the Supreme Court that "it was a slip of tongue", Pawan Khera has tendered an apology for the same. 

The Supreme Court, while accepting the Congress' plea, requested to club all FIRs against him.
