President Ram Nath Kovind approves governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir

President Ram Nath Kovind today approved the imposition of governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir, a day after the BJP pulled out of its alliance with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Governor NN Vohra will be presiding over the state, as per the official information.

Last evening, Governor NN Vohra had forwarded a report to President Kovind for imposing Governor's rule in J&K under Section 92 of the Constitution, after holding widespread consultation with all the political parties.

Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday submitted her resignation as Jammu and Kashmir chief minister to governor Vohra.
