PTC Web Desk: In a major counter-terror operation, the Special Security Operations Cell (SSOC) Amritsar has successfully busted a terror network and arrested one key suspect identified as Manpreet Singh alias Tiddi, who was allegedly linked to foreign-based handlers.

According to police sources, a .30 bore pistol and several live cartridges were seized from the accused. During interrogation, Manpreet Singh led the police to the recovery of two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from the Kotla Tarkhana village area, each weighing approximately 2.5 kg.

Preliminary forensic examination revealed that both IEDs were filled with high-grade RDX and equipped with timers for controlled detonation, indicating a possible plan for large-scale explosions.

Investigations further uncovered that the accused was in contact with handlers based in Armenia, the United Kingdom, and Germany, who were taking instructions from Pakistan-based masterminds affiliated with a proscribed terrorist organisation.

An FIR has been registered at the SSOC Police Station, Amritsar, and further investigation is underway to trace the wider network and identify all associates connected to this terror module.
