Dharmendra Pradhans exit triggers calls for resignation of Harjot Bain over exam irregularities in Punjab
The BJP, Congress, and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have said that Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation has increased pressure to fix accountability in Punjab, where they allege several recruitment and board examination papers have been leaked in recent years.
PTC News Desk: The resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan has triggered a fresh political upheaval in Punjab with the Opposition now demanding Education Minister Harjot Bains' exit over alleged paper leaks and other examination irregularities in the state.
The BJP, Congress, and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have said that Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation has increased pressure to fix accountability in Punjab, where they allege several recruitment and board examination papers have been leaked in recent years.
Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring welcomed Pradhan's resignation and called it a victory for protesting students. He demanded that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains also take responsibility. Warring alleged that several exams, including recruitment tests and the Class 12 English board exam, were leaked during the AAP government's tenure.

The BJP also criticised the Punjab government. Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa questioned why AAP leaders, who had supported protests over the NEET issue, were not speaking out about the alleged paper leaks in Punjab. He called for strict action against those responsible and demanded Harjot Singh Bains' resignation.
The SAD made similar demands. SAD MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal accused the Punjab government of failing to prevent repeated exam paper leaks and demanded the resignations of both Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains.
