Heroin, drone recoveries near India-Pakistan border in Punjab

The operation was initiated following a tip-off received by the BSF regarding the presence of heroin in the area

PTC Web Desk: Three separate incidents resulted in the recovery of a drone and two packets of heroin near the India-Pakistan international border in Punjab, an official confirmed on Saturday.

The Border Security Force (BSF) discovered a broken drone in village Kalia, Tarn Taran district, on Friday. Identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic, the drone was found in a damaged state, according to a BSF spokesperson.

In a separate incident, BSF troops recovered a 460-gram packet of heroin with a small torch attached to it from a field near village Hardo Ratan in Amritsar. The operation was initiated following a tip-off received by the BSF regarding the presence of heroin in the area.

Another packet of heroin weighing 406 gram was recovered from a field in village Sankatara, Tarn Taran district, also on Friday, the spokesperson added.
