PTC News Desk: In a tragic incident, Punjabi actor Jimmy Shergill's father Satyajit Singh Shergill passed away on October 11. He breathed his last on October 11 at the age of 90.
The Bhog and Antim Ardas will be held on October 14 at Gurudwara Dhan Pothohar Nagar in Santacruz West, Mumbai.
Jasjit Singh Gill, aka Jimmy who was born in a Sikh family originally hails from Deokahia village, Sardarnagar, in the Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. For the unversed, Jimmy Sheirgill's great-aunt was Amrita Shergill, who is regarded as one of the greatest avant-garde women artists of the early 20th century

His father was so angry that he didn't talk to Jimmy for a full one and a half years. Jimmy had said, "We are from a Sikh family, so my family expressed displeasure over this childishness of mine. At that time, I didn't know that I would become an actor or do acting when I grew up. Everything just happened on its own."
Jimmy Shergill began his acting journey in 1996 with the film Maachis, but it was the 2000 multi-starrer Mohabbatein that brought him widespread fame. He went on to deliver notable performances in films such as Haasil, Munnabhai MBBS, Raqeeb, My Name Is Khan, and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster.
