Rana Balachauria murder case: In a significant breakthrough, Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has arrested Aditya alias Makhan Kapoor, the alleged main shooter in the Rana Balachauria murder case.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of SP Bikram Brar, nearly four months after the high-profile killing, officials confirmed.

According to sources, Kapoor was directly involved in the execution of the murder and had been evading arrest since the incident. His arrest is being seen as a major step forward in cracking the case.

The development comes amid growing concerns over rising gang-related activities in the state. Notably, incidents linked to the Ghanshampuria gang have seen an uptick in recent months. The gang is reportedly led by gangster Dony Bal, while Shaganpreet, an accused in the Vicky Middukhera murder case, has emerged as a key figure and is believed to be actively orchestrating operations.

With criminal activities on the rise, the Punjab Police have intensified its crackdown on organised crime networks, with the AGTF taking a proactive role in tracking down key operatives.

Further investigations are underway to uncover the wider network and possible links in the case.
