PTC Web Desk: A devastating road accident near Malerkotla in Punjab has claimed the lives of a couple while leaving their three young daughters injured and orphaned. The tragic incident occurred near Manak Majra village on the Jammu-Delhi-Katra National Highway.
According to initial reports, the family was travelling from Madhya Pradesh to Jammu and Kashmir, their native place, in a car. The couple, along with their three minor daughters, were on their way home when the accident took place.
Authorities suspect that the driver may have dozed off causing the vehicle to lose control. The car reportedly rammed into the road divider with great force, leading to a tragic impact. The collision was so severe that the vehicle was completely wrecked.
The husband and wife, who were seated in the front, died on the spot due to the impact. Meanwhile, the three children sitting in the back seat sustained minor injuries and were immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital in Malerkotla for treatment.
Eyewitnesses described heart-wrenching scenes at the accident site, with the injured children crying out for their parents, leaving bystanders deeply shaken.
