Mohali: Missing retired principal’s decomposed body found in Panchkula
Amarjit Singh had last been seen leaving his residence with an unidentified person after parking his car outside

PTC Web Desk: In a shocking turn of events, the decomposed body of retired principal Amarjit Singh, who had been missing from Mohali for the past four days, was discovered in Panchkula. The 65-year-old had been untraceable since July 3, and the police have now detained two youths for questioning in connection with the case.
Sources said Amarjit Singh had last been seen leaving his residence with an unidentified person after parking his car outside. That same evening, his domestic help, Duni Ram, received a call from Singh's phone. The caller demanded Rs reportedly demanded Rs 35-40 lakh urgently, instructing Duni Ram to deliver the money to Sector 88 in Mohali, claiming it needed to be handed over to someone.
Following the disturbing call, Duni Ram informed Singh’s wife, who then alerted their son Rahul. Taking swift action, Rahul approached the IT City Police Station and filed a formal complaint, suspecting that his father had been kidnapped and was being held for ransom.
According to Rahul, his father had never earlier discussed any large financial transactions with the family, which deepened their suspicions about a possible abduction.
Acting on the complaint, the Mohali police registered an FIR under Section 127(6) of the BNS Act against three unidentified persons. Ongoing investigations led to crucial leads, leading to the recovery of Amarjit Singh’s body in Panchkula. The remains were in an advanced stage of decomposition.
The body has been brought back to Mohali. The police are yet to divulge more details.
