PTC Web Desk: A nine-year-old boy, who had been missing for three days, was found murdered in Ludhiana on Saturday evening, triggering outrage and serious allegations of police negligence by his family. The child’s throat had been slit and his body was recovered from bushes near Kasabad village.

The victim has been identified as Aman, a resident of Ludhiana. The family is originally from Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh and has been living in Ludhiana for nearly 15 years.

According to the family, Aman went missing three days back while playing outside his house. His mother, Anisha, said the child was flying a kite near their home when he suddenly disappeared.

The family alleged that they approached multiple police stations but were repeatedly turned away on the pretext of jurisdiction issues. They first went to Salem Tabri police station, where they were told the area did not fall under its jurisdiction. They were then sent to Basti Jodhewal, followed by Meharban and Ladoval police stations, where they received similar responses.

Ironically, the spot where the body was later found near Kasabad village  eventually turned out to fall under the jurisdiction of Salem Tabri police station.

It is learnt that the child was last seen flying a kite barely 50 metre from his house, and his body was also found at almost the same distance.

Aman’s grandmother said the family had two granddaughters and Aman was their only grandson.

The child’s father said he had no personal enmity with anyone.

The incident has sparked anger among local residents, who are demanding strict action against those responsible for the murder and accountability for the alleged lapses by the police during the crucial initial hours of the search.
