J&K, Punjab Police bust smuggling network, AK-47, narcotics seized from Amritsar flat; two arrested
PTC News Desk: In a major breakthrough, Jammu and Kashmir Police in a joint operation with Punjab Police arrested two men from a flat in Dream City Colony, Amritsar. During the operation, police reportedly recovered an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, and around 500 grams of narcotic substance from the flat. After the recovery, security personnel cordoned off the area and launched a detailed investigation.
The Jammu Police had received crucial information about a wanted suspect, following which a team travelled to Amritsar and conducted a raid.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Surajdeep Singh, a resident of Sheikhpura, and Harpreet Singh, a resident of Devidaspura. Police have also seized the vehicles belonging to both accused.
DSP Yadvinder Singh said the operation was carried out based on intelligence provided by the Jammu Police. He added that both suspects are being questioned and investigations are underway to identify and trace others who may be linked to the case.
