According to the preliminary investigation, besides Shambu blast, he was also involded in Sirhind railway track blast, and grenade attack on CIA Moga, all executed under the directions of foreign-based handlers.
PTC News Desk: In a significant breakthrough in Patiala railway track blast case, Patiala police in a joint operation with CI Pathankot arrested prime accused Gurjinder Singh alias Baba Beant who is reportedly key associate of main executor Jagroop Singh, said Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.
The accused is a resident of Dhariwal in Gurdaspur.
According to the preliminary investigation, besides Shambu blast, he was also involded in Sirhind railway track blast, and grenade attack on CIA Moga, all executed under the directions of foreign-based handlers, said Punjab DGP.
With the latest arrest and earlier recoveries, police said all three terror-related cases—Moga, Sirhind, and Shambhu—have been solved. The arrested toll now stands at five.
Notably, four accused were arrested earlier in connection with Delhi-Rajpura railway track blast in which one accused, identified as Jagroop Singh alias Joopa was killed while attempting to detonate the bomb.
The interrogation revealed that the accused were in direct contact with Pakistan’s intelligence agency (ISI) and Khalistani extremist groups based abroad, particularly in Malaysia. Their main objective was to carry out terror activities in Punjab to disrupt peace and create fear among the public. They had carried out the blast on the Shambhu–Ambala railway line on April 27, 2026, with the intention of disrupting railway operations.
