Patiala railway blast: Jagroop Singh, who was killed in detonation attempt had links with jailed Punjab MP Amritpal Singh
Patiala railway track blast: A massive explosion on the Delhi-Rajpura railway track near Shambhu was reported late Mnday night in which the accused reportedly died while attempting to detonate the bomb.
Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Varun Sharma said that police teams are collecting scientific evidence from the site and have launched a detailed investigation in coordination with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) in connection with the case.
The deceased has been identified as Jagroop Singh alias Joopa,33, a resident of Panjwar village in Tarn Taran district, Punjab.

During the interrogation it was revealed that Jagroop had earlier gone to Dubai and adopted Nihag attire after five-six years of his return.
His alleged connection with jailed Punjab MP Amritpal Singh has come to the fore. He was actively involved in the campaigning during the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.
During the Tarn Taran Assembly by-election, a complaint was registered against Joopa at Jhabal police station for tearing posters. However besides that, no other criminal case had been filed against him.
Panjwar village, where Jagrup belonged, is also the native place of former Khalistan Commando Force chief Paramjit Singh Panjwar, who was shot dead by bike-borne attackers in Pakistan some time ago.
