Punjab CLU scam: ED raids continue for Day 2 at Kharar flat linked to Nitin Gohal

PTC Web Desk:  Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials continued their search operation for over 24 hours at a flat in Kharar linked to Nitin Gohal, with the team still present inside the premises as of Friday.

According to sources, the raid began on Thursday and has seen officials taking short breaks intermittently while maintaining a sustained presence at the location. Security has been tightened in the housing society, with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel deployed to secure the area.

During the operation, an officer reportedly escorted Gohal's children to school on Thursday, indicating that the search was being conducted over an extended period.

The ED action is part of a wider probe into alleged irregularities involving changes in land use (CLU) norms and suspected fraud with landowners and homebuyers. The agency has been conducting search and seizure operations against two real estate groups in Punjab.

Dramatic scenes were reported during the raid at a flat in the Western Towers complex in Chajju Majra, where two bags containing bundles of cash were allegedly thrown out of the building from inside the premises during the search.

Officials familiar with the matter said multiple locations were covered as part of the operation, including sites linked to Dhir Construction. In total, at least 12 premises across Mohali and Chandigarh were searched, targeting builders and housing projects under the scanner.

Nitin Gohal, whose premises were also raided, is believed to have close links with an officer on special duty (OSD) to a senior government official, though no official confirmation has been issued in this regard.

Investigations are ongoing, and the ED is yet to release a formal statement detailing the findings of the searches.
