PTC News Desk: Two school teachers lost their lives on Sunday morning after their car plunged into a canal in Punjab’s Moga district, where dense fog had drastically reduced visibility on the roads.

The mishap occurred while Jas Karan Singh was driving his wife, Kamaljeet Kaur, to her election duty at a polling booth in Sangatpura village for the Punjab zila parishad elections. Poor visibility due to thick fog caused the vehicle to lose control and fall into a canal running alongside the road. Both were killed on the spot.

Kamaljeet Kaur had been assigned election duty at the Sangatpura polling booth, while Jas Karan Singh, a native of Mansa district, was an English teacher. The couple were government school teachers posted in Moga district.

The demise of the couple has sent shockwaves among the teaching fraternity across the district.
