Punjab terminates services of re-deployed retired staff

The Punjab Government on Tuesday directed to terminate the re-employment (on a contract or any other basis) of the retired employees.

The government stated that re-employment of retired staff despite the approval of the Personnel Department and even if re-appointed by the departments at their level, should be terminated with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, the re-appointed law officers would be exempted from this order.

The Punjab Government, in its order, stated that "the officers/employees who were re-appointed by the departments at their own level with the approval of the personnel department after retirement should be terminated with immediate effect."

"Only re-appointed "law officers" would be exempted from these instructions," it added.
