Punjab, Uttarakhand high courts get 13 more judges

The Central government has appointed thirteen judges for Punjab and Uttrakhand High Courts on Friday. In 2018, a total number of 106 High Court judges have been appointed this year. Last year, 126 HC judges were appointed by the NDA government.

In Punjab and Haryana HC, the government has confirmed the following nine additional judges as permanent judges.

S/Shri Justices

(i) Harminder Singh Madaan,

(ii) Raj Shekhar Attri,

(iii) Gurvinder Singh Gill,

(iv) Arvind Singh Sangwan,

(v) Rajbir Sehrawat,

(vi) Anil Kshetarpal,

(vii) AvneeshJhingan,

(viii) Mahabir Singh Sindhu, and

(ix) Sudhir Mittal,

Also, Shri Harnaresh Singh Gill has been appointed as an additional judge.

According to the media sources, the Central government has cleared appointments of 349 High Court judges on the basis of Supreme Court collegium recommendations.
