PTC News Desk: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the home of Aam Aadmi Party MLA Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora in Moga early Wednesday. ED teams arrived in four vehicles bearing Delhi and Chandigarh registration numbers.

The teams are searching her home and flats on the Moga-Ludhiana Road with CRPF personnel in attendance, and the area around the house and flats has been cordoned off for security.

On Saturday, the Aam Aadmi Party released its first list of 40 candidates for the 2027 Assembly elections. Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora, the sitting MLA from Moga, was named as the party’s candidate again.

Meanwhile, local Aam Aadmi Party workers arrived at the spot after learning about the raid and began protesting. They raised slogans against the ED’s action. A large number of police personnel were stationed outside the house to maintain order.

The workers alleged that the raid was being carried out at the BJP’s direction. They claimed the party was using such raids to pressure AAP leaders into joining the BJP and strengthen its position ahead of the Assembly elections. They also said the BJP had little political presence in Punjab.

SAD takes a dig

Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia took a dig at the ED raid on the AAP MLA. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote:

'Everyone will be caught; no one will be spared. Those who have looted and exploited Punjab will have to answer for it. The ‘Guru-betrayer’ and his 92 disciples will have to account for looting Punjab. Their speed will also soon come under scrutiny!'
