Jammu and Kashmir: 3 Hizbul Mujahideen workers arrested from Kulgam

Srinagar, February 18: On Saturday, Jammu and Kashmir police from Kulgam district arrested three over-ground workers of Hizbul Mujahideen in connection to anti-national elements. 

The three who are arrested have been identified as Mohammad Abass Wagay, Gowhar Shafi Mir and Nisar Rehman Sheikh, Police said. Police recently held a checkpoint at Daderkoot-Alamganj crossing on Friday evening. The police spokesperson said that they received the information about the movement of anti-national elements, they were carrying arms and ammunition with them.

The prime suspects were traveling on a motorcycle when they were caught, police said. 

"During a search, police recovered one pistol, two magazines and 13 live rounds from the possession of the suspects," the spokesperson said.

"Upon sustained interrogation, they revealed that they were involved in terror crimes and were providing support to terror organisation Hizbul Mujahideen," the spokesperson said.
