PTC Web Desk: In yet another harrowing incident reported from a Noida housing complex Sunday evening,  a lift malfunction resulted in a horrifying accident.  At Paras Tierra Society in Sector 137, the brakes of a lift failed, causing it to shoot through the roof of the top floor. At the time of the incident, three persons were in the lift. They sustained injuries.

The recent incident at Paras Tierra Society occurred on Tower-5's fourth floor as occupants were disembarking. Suddenly, the brakes failed, causing the lift to ascend uncontrollably. It soared to the 25th floor before crashing into the roof, resulting in injuries to three persons, including two women. Consequently, the two lifts in Tower-5 have been shut down, and residents have been advised to utilise the stairs until further notice.

This comes a couple of months after a tragic lift crash that led to the death of an elderly woman at the same housing complex. The incident had already instilled fear and panic among teh resident of Paras Tierra Society, Noida.

Notably, Noida has witnessed several back-to back lift malfunctions over the past year. Some cases even proved to be fatal. In the wake of such incidents, the Uttar Pradesh Government has enacted legislation aimed at ensuring proper maintenance and upkeep of lifts.

The authorities have launched an investigation into the technical fault responsible for the incident.
