Pune, November 27: On the Pune-Nagpur IndiGo flight 6E6798, passenger Sagarika Patnaik encountered a peculiar situation when she realised that half of her seat cushion was missing. Seated in 10A, which was a window seat, Sagarika brought this surprising discovery to the attention of a cabin crew member.

However, the response she received was unexpected. Instead of immediate assistance, the crew member advised her to personally search for the missing cushion while the boarding process continued. Eventually, a spare cushion from another seat was provided to address the issue temporarily.

Upon addressing the concern to IndiGo, Sagarika's husband, Subrat Patnaik, took to social media (specific platform not mentioned) to express their dissatisfaction. IndiGo responded, acknowledging that seat cushions could occasionally detach from their Velcro and assured a review of the incident. They also pledged to enhance their services in the future.

However, Subrat, expressing concern, questioned the airline's pre-flight checks and highlighted the responsibility of the cabin crew in identifying and rectifying such discrepancies before passengers board.

The incident drew criticism from aviation analyst Dhairyashil Vandekar, who emphasized that airlines should not provide damaged or non-functional seats, warning of potential regulatory repercussions from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation due to such oversights.
