In a recent interview, Fauci said that the most important thing was to get supplies of oxygen, medication, PPE kits.

Though he did not name any government, he said that in view of the crisis, India should look at putting a crisis group that would meet and kickoff getting things organised.
The chief medical adviser to the Biden administration, Fauci said that one of the things that need to be done was shut down the country temporarily.

He further asserted the formula — immediate, intermediate, and long range (measures to contain the virus). He said that the most important thing in the immediate was to get oxygen, supplies, medication, PPE. The immediate thing to do was to essentially call a shutdown of the country, he said.
He referred to China and said that when the nation had a big explosion of coronavirus a year ago, they shut down the country completely.
Furthermore, he said that it was not necessary to shut down for 6 months. It can be a temporary shutdown which may contain the spread of transmission, he suggested.
