PTC News Desk: A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for an Indian-origin man in connection with the murder of a 27-year-old woman of Indian descent last week.

The suspect, Manpreet Singh (27), a resident of Brampton, is wanted for the second-degree murder of Amanpreet Saini, whose body was found in a park in Lincoln on October 21 with severe traumatic injuries.

According to the Niagara Regional Police Service, investigators believe Singh fled Canada shortly after the discovery of Saini’s body. Police said it appeared to be a targeted attack and that there was no ongoing threat to public safety. Authorities have released Singh’s photograph and urged the public not to approach him if spotted. “Call 911 immediately,” the police advised.

According to the sources Singh, whose family hails from Punjab, has escaped to India, and Canadian security agencies have sought help from Indian authorities to secure his arrest.

Meanwhile, Saini, originally from Punjab’s Sangrur district, had been living in Toronto for the past few years, according to reports.
