King Charles III’s Coronation Ceremony: List of Indians who will attend the ceremony

King Charles III's Coronation Ceremony:  The wait is over. Britain is all decked up for King Charles III's coronation. The event will mark King Charles III as the 40th monarch of the royal family. 

The enthronement ceremony of King Charles III will be a historical moment for Britain.

However, officially he will be crowned on May 6, eight months after he ascended to the throne. Numerous small changes to British daily life are taking place after King Charles III ascended to the throne. For instance, King Charles portrait will now feature on British money and postage stamps, sources reported. 


King Charles's coronation ceremony will officially take place on May 6 at 11 am and will follow till the evening of Sunday, May 7. 

The historical ceremony was attended by 8,000 guests in person. Other than that 27 million people witnessed the ceremony via live telecast on TV. Radio coverage was received by 11 million people for the landmark event.


List of Indians who will attend King Charles III’s Coronation Ceremony 

Sonam Kapoor: Sonam Kapoor will be present at King Charles III's coronation concert with numerous celebrities from around the world. As per the sources, actress will be performing a spoken word at the coronation concert on May 7, 2023. 

Sonam will be joined by actor Tom Cruise and Pooh who will appear alongside "Dynasty" star Joan Collins, singer Tom Jones, adventurer Bear Grylls and dancer Oti Mabuse in a series of pre-recorded VTs in which they will reveal "little-known facts about the King" for the coronation, which will honour King Charles' ascension to the throne following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II last year. 


Jagdeep Dhankhar: Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar and his spouse Dr Sudesh Dhankhar will also attend the reception at Buckingham Palace and will mingle with other dignitaries. Dhankhar will join a gathering of about 2,000 dignitaries, including heads of state and government, at the coronation ceremony.


Akshata Murty:  Wife of UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Akshata Murty will be among the attendees at the coronation ceremony. Murty, who was born and brought up in India, is the daughter of Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy and author-philanthropist Sudha Murty


Mumbai dabbawalas: Mumbai dabbawalas have also been invited to the coronation ceremony of UK's King Charles. They were seen buying a traditional turban and a shawl as a gift for UK's King Charles on his coronation on May 6. Mumbai dabbawalas have had long-standing ties with the British Royals. They have received invitations from the British Consulate and British Embassy for the coronation celebrations on May 6.


Sourabh Phadke: Pune-born architect who graduated from Charles' foundation's Building Craft Programme and the Prince's Foundation School of Traditional Arts, too has been invited to the ceremony of King Charles III. 

Gulfsha: Gulfsha who was awarded the Prince's Trust Global Award last year is on the list of King Charles III coronation ceremony. She now works for a consultancy firm, providing price estimates for construction projects, according to the Buckingham Palace.

Manju Malhi: An Indian-origin chef who works with a senior citizens charity in the UK. She is a professional chef who, since 2016, has acted as the Resident Chef for the charity Open Age, which champions an active life for older people in London, helping those aged 50 or older to sustain their physical and mental fitness. Indian-origin chef is also all set to attend King Charles III coronation ceremony. 

Jay Patel: An Indo-Canadian who successfully completed the Prince's Trust Canada's Youth Employment programme in May 2022, is among the distinguished guests invited to attend the coronation of King Charles III.
