Pak Army Chief Asim Munir to visit US, marks second visit in two months

Munir will attend the farewell of United States Central Command Commander (CENTCOM) General Michael Kurilla, who had previously termed Pakistan a "phenomenal partner" in counter-terrorism.

PTC News Desk: Pakistan army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir will head to the United States again this month in what will be his second visit to Washington in two months, signalling deepening bilateral ties.


Munir will attend the farewell of United States Central Command Commander (CENTCOM) General Michael Kurilla, who had previously termed Pakistan a "phenomenal partner" in counter-terrorism.


Earlier Kurilla hailed Pakistan for capturing for capturing five ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K) terrorists using intelligence provided by the US.


"Pakistan has been a phenomenal partner in the counter-terrorism world... That's why we need to have a relationship with Pakistan and with India," Kurilla said during a hearing before the House Armed Services Committee.


Asim Munir's seond scheduled visit to the US follows a row of developments indicating growing military and strategic engagement between India and Pakistan.
