Amritsar: Male nurse held for attempt to rape patient from Holland The police on Sunday arrested a male nurse for attempting to rape a 20-year-old Holland national, who was undergoing a treatment at the hospital. Ashish Roy, the accused works as a night attendant at a private hospital. Additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) Lakhbir Singh said, “The victim had come to city on a foreign tour along with her parents. They came to city on Saturday and stayed at a hotel here. At night, the girl complained of some ailment after which she was hospitalised.” “On morning, she called her mother in the room and told her that the male nurse attempted to rape and molested her. Her father immediately informed the police, who reached the hospital and arrested the nurse,” said ADCP-2. “On victim’s statement, a case has been registered against the nurse under Sections 376 (attempt to rape), 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 511 (attempting to commit offences) of the Indian Penal Code at Civil Lines police station”. -PTC News
