Bharat Bandh Impact In Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, UP, Maharashtra Today Bharat Bandh have been called by nearly 35 scheduled caste organizations to protest against the amendment of Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act or SC/ST Act passed in the Parliament in July. This Act protects marginalized communities against discrimination and atrocities. In March the Supreme Court expressed their concerns that the misuse of the ACT. The Supreme Court ruled that public servants cannot be prosecuted without the approval of the appointing authority and citizens too should be arrested only after an inquiry under the law. The protest was seen against this amendment and the Bharat Band Impact can be seen in parts of Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. The trains are forcibly stopped and railways tracks, highways were blocked as upper caste communities tried to impose Bharat bandh. Protestors stopped train in Darbhanga and Munger's Masudan. No Petrol Pump was open in Bhopal and that is why the vehicular movements were badly affected. The Police have issued high alert in 35 districts across the state. More than 33 security force companies and nearly 5000 security personnel have been deployed. The police said, "Forces have been divided judiciously across the districts. It has been peaceful till now. Nobody can force anyone to be a part of the bandh.” The Madhya Pradesh Administration has imposed section 144 of the Criminal Procedure code in various districts and cities of Madhya Pradesh. The places include Chhatarpur, Shivpuri, Bhind, Ashoknagar, Guna, Gwalior and Katni. Drones are being used for surveillance in Gwalior. Earlier in April, the Gwalior-Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh saw large-scale violence during the Bharat Bandh called by scheduled caste groups in which four people were killed. Bharat Bandh impact in Rajasthan: shops remained closed in Kota and Ajmer: Shops remained closed in Rajasthan. Shops in Kota, Ajmer remained closed due to nation-wide bandh and protests took place in Alwar. Bharat Bandh impact in Maharasthra (Thane), Uttar Pradesh Widespread protests and rallies took place in several parts of Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
