Cold wave and dense fog continue to grip Nation’s Capital: New Delhi Jan 6 – Cold wave has been gripping the capital for the last couple of days observing the chill in the mornings and nights. According to the MET Department , the cold wave will continue in the same manner in the coming days also covering the capital region. Operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) continue to be affected, owing to the grim weather. Many trains have been cancelled due to which hundreds of passengers have been left stranded at several railway stations in Delhi. A number of trains have been cancelled, rescheduled and delayed due to poor visibility. Around 49 trains are arriving late, and 13 have been rescheduled due to the dense fog. Furthermore, as many as 18 trains have been have cancelled departing to different routes that has left commuters especially working people , school n college going students and other passengers left high and dry in this layer of dense fog . The minimum temperature recorded is six degrees Celsius, while the maximum is 21 degrees Celsius. The air quality in the national capital has also been keeping under 'very poor' category as the fog has not been allowing the particulate matter to disperse. -PTC News
