A 3-year-old boy in Ernakulam in Kerala has been tested positive for coronavirus, taking the number of confirmed cases to 40 in India. As per the report, the boy had returned from Italy with his parents at Cochin International airport on an EK 503 flight on Saturday.

Ernakulam District Medical Officer Dr. NK Kuttappan was quoted by news agency ANI as saying: “After universal screening at the Cochin airport, the child was transferred to Ernakulam Medical college. His father and mother have been put under observation in the isolation ward of the medical college.” Meanwhile, over 3,000 fatalities have been reported across the globe with more than 1 lakh confirmed cases.

The coronavirus has caused a major threat among the Indians as many people have decided not to celebrate Holi this year.

Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir

Principal Secretary Planning, Jammu and Kashmir, Rohit Kansal stated that 400 persons have been put under surveillance in Satwari and Sarwal areas of Jammu. Meanwhile, the Anganwadi centers in these areas have been closed till March 31.

PM Modi to cancel Dhaka visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unlikely to visit Dhaka, in view of the Coronavirus threat. Likewise, Bangladesh has also canceled the grand inaugural ceremony of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary which PM Modi was scheduled to attend.

Coronavirus in Maharashtra

Maharashtra Health Ministry was quoted by news agency ANI as saying: “15 people are still under observation, 258 people have been discharged. Not a single person has been found positive for Coronavirus infection in the state, as of now.
