India reports more than 50,000 coronavirus cases for 6th consecutive day, India’s tally crosses 1.85 million

India reported a single-day spike of 52,050 coronavirus positive cases and 803 deaths in the last 24 hours, as of Tuesday morning. The total number of coronavirus cases has increased to 18,55,746 out of which 5,86,298 are active cases, 12,30,510 have been cured, and discharged while 38938 have died due to the pandemic, the Health Ministry said. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) stated that the total number of COVID-19 samples tested up to August 3 is 2,08,64,750 out of which 6,61,182 samples were tested on Monday. Meanwhile, several political leaders have now tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Earlier, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain had tested positive for coronavirus, however, he had recovered from the contagion disease. Union Minister Amit Shah also tested positive for coronavirus after which Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and his daughter also tested positive for coronavirus.
