Delhi Police: Iron nails fixed at Ghazipur border being ‘repositioned’

Iron nails fixed, being repositioned: Farmers continue to protest on the borders of Delhi against the three central agricultural laws and the protest has entered its 71st day. Also Read | Delhi Police arrests one more person in R-Day violence case Delhi Police official on Thursday said that the iron nails which were fixed on the roads at Ghazipur border to restrict the movement of farmers agitating against the new farm laws are being “repositioned”. The statement has come out after videos and photos of workers removing the nails near Ghazipur border surfaced on social media. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Deepak Yadav asserted that the security arrangements at the border would remain the same.

He stated, “Videos and photos are getting circulated in which it is shown that nails are being taken off at Ghazipur. These are just being repositioned. Security arrangement at the border remains the same,”
Security arrangements at Ghazipur border have been strengthened, after Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait’s emotional appeal called farmers from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand to flock at the Delhi-UP border. Farmers have been protesting at Delhi borders. Despite 11 rounds of meeting between the protesting farmers and the Centre, no conclusion has come out so far. No date has been fixed for the next meeting. The farmers have been protesting against the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020. -PTC News
