'Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat': PM Modi unveils 108 ft Hanuman statue in Gujarat

New Delhi, April 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a 108-feet statue of Lord Hanuman in Gujarat's Morbi district on Saturday. Marking the special occasion of Hanuman Jayanti via video conferencing, PM Modi stated that "this is not just a resolution for the establishment of Hanuman Ji's statues but it is also a part of the resolution for Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat." On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, PM said, "I have been told that two more similar statues will be established in Rameswaram and West Bengal." Notably, the statue is the second of the four statues being built in the four directions across the country, as part of the 'Hanumanji Char Dham' project. The statue has been set up in the west, at the Ashram of Bapu Keshvanand Ji in Morbi, the PMO informed.

The construction of the massive statue began in 2018 and costs Rs10 crore, the trust informed. PM Modi unveils Hanuman statue in Gujarat The first statue of the series was set up in the north in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla in 2010, while the work on the third statue, in the south at Rameswaram has started. "Ram Katha is also organized in different parts of the country. Whatever be the language or dialect, the spirit of Ram Katha unites all, unites with devotion to God. This is the strength of the Indian faith, our spirituality, our culture, and our tradition," the PM said during the event. That is what everyone's efforts are all about," he further said. Earlier in the day, PM Modi extended greetings amid religious events across the country on Hanuman Jayanti. “Many best wishes to all the countrymen on the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman, a symbol of strength, courage and restraint. By the grace of Pawanputra, may everyone's life always be filled with strength, intelligence and knowledge," he tweeted in Hindi. PM Modi unveils Hanuman statue in Gujarat Several other political dignitaries including home minister Amit Shah, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath extended greetings to the people of the country on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. Hanuman Jayanti is a Hindu festival celebrated by devotees of Lord Hanuman to celebrate the birth anniversary of the Hindu god.
