Election Commission of India orders to relieve Kunwar Vijay Pratap from SIT
The Election Commission of India (ECI) today ordered that Mr Kunwar Vijay Singh, Inspector General Police, be relieved as a member of the Special Investigation Team. According to the orders issued by the Commission, he would not be given any duty related to elections.

On March 22 the Shiromani Akali Dal has demanded the immediate removal of Mr Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh as member of the Special Investigating Team set up by the Punjab Government. It cited that Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh gave a politically motivated interview to a TV channel about the ongoing investigation by SIT and has made certain political comments.

The SAD further alleged that Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh has mentioned the name of SAD leaders in the interview.
