Encounter under way in Pulwama district of Jammu & Kashmir
An encounter broke out between militants and security forces on Friday morning in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces received specific information that some militants were hiding in the Banderpora area of Awantipora region.

After receiving the information, the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the region. The militants fired upon the search party of the security forces during the search operation. The security forces also retaliated and ultimately took the shape of an encounter. At least one terrorist was gunned down by security forces.

According tho the PTC news the Hizabul Maujahideen militant has been identified as Ishfaq Yousaf Wani.
