Arjun Rampal reveals how his 26/11 experience inspired his role in Dhurandhar The Revenge
Actor Arjun Rampal has been celebrating the success of Dhurandhar 2, but recently, he shared a deeply personal story connected to the film. Speaking at the Hello! Hall of Fame Awards in Mumbai, Rampal opened up about how the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks affected him and later influenced his performance.
Rampal revealed that he experienced the terrifying night firsthand. The attacks took place on November 26, 2008-his birthday-making the memory even more emotional for him. He recalled that he was at the Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai when the incident began.
“We were at the bar and had just ordered a drink when the first blast happened near Mahim,” he said. “I heard the sound, and my glass shook. We were all confused and wondered what had just happened.”
What started as a celebration quickly turned into a night of fear and uncertainty as the situation unfolded across the city. The experience left a deep and lasting impact on the actor.
Years later, while working on Dhurandhar 2, Rampal found a way to connect those emotions to his role. He shared that when director Aditya Dhar narrated a scene related to the 26/11 attacks, it struck a personal chord.
Rampal saw it as a chance to express the feelings he had carried since that night. He described his performance as a way of channeling those emotions, even calling it his own form of seeking justice.
Through the film, Rampal not only delivered a powerful performance but also brought a piece of his real-life experience to the screen, turning a painful memory into meaningful storytelling.
