Atlee’s ‘Raaka’ featuring Allu Arjun sets Guinness World Record for real-time motion capture
PTC Web Desk: Director Atlee’s much-anticipated film ‘Raaka’, starring Allu Arjun in the lead, has achieved a Guinness World Record even before its release.
The makers announced on Monday that the film had created a new world record for the “Most People Motion-Captured in Real-Time”, with as many as 37 performers being captured simultaneously.
Production house Sun Pictures shared the achievement on social media, calling it a major milestone for Indian cinema on the global stage. Actor Allu Arjun and filmmaker Atlee were also presented with the Guinness World Records certificate.

Sharing a monochrome photograph of himself with Atlee, the actor wrote that he was proud to work with a filmmaker known for his vision and calibre. He also said he was looking forward to creating more magic together.
The makers had earlier generated considerable curiosity around ‘Raaka’ with the release of Allu Arjun’s first look. The image showed the actor in a rugged, bald avatar, with part of his face obscured by what appeared to be a wolf’s claw. The striking visual gave the character a raw and warrior-like appearance.
When Sun Pictures officially announced the project last year, it also highlighted the international talent associated with the film’s production. A video released by the studio featured several prominent technicians discussing the script and the creative possibilities they saw in the project.
VFX supervisor James Madigan, known for his work on projects, including Iron Man 2 and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, spoke enthusiastically about the script.
The project also brings together international visual-effects professionals, including Mike Elizalde, president of Spectral Motion, Justin Raleigh, artistic director and CEO of Fractured FX, and William Wright Anderson, co-owner of Lola VFX.
The technicians have earlier spoken about the film’s ambitious script, its creature designs and the possibilities offered by its characters and world.
With its international VFX team and now a Guinness World Record for real-time motion capture, ‘Raaka’ has added another major milestone to the growing anticipation surrounding the Allu Arjun-Atlee collaboration.
