Sangrur man attempts suicide outside DC office: Man alleges harassment for speaking against drug menace, receiving death threats
PTC News Desk: A new video has emerged of Jagga Singh, a man from Sangrur who allegedly consumed poison after claiming he was being harassed for speaking out against drug sales in Punjab. He made serious allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Jagga Singh, a resident of Namol village, remains in critical condition and is undergoing treatment at Patiala Medical College. He reportedly attempted suicide outside the DC office on Sunday.

In a video recorded at the hospital, Jagga alleged that village sarpanch Sukhveer Singh had asked him not to speak publicly about drugs. He claimed that a video he had uploaded online showing alleged drug sales in the village was deleted.
Jagga further alleged that the sarpanch later came to his house carrying a revolver and threatened to kill him. He also claimed that the CCTV DVR from his house was taken away.
Claims about meeting Minister Aman Arora
Jagga said Punjab minister and AAP state president Aman Arora had visited Sangrur for an inauguration programme. According to Jagga, he wanted to show Arora the video about alleged drug sales in his village.
He claimed that the sarpanch's sons stopped him and told him that the DSP was sitting in a vehicle and that he should meet him instead.
Jagga said he met the DSP, who told him that they would speak to the SHO. He alleged that he was subsequently made to delete the video.
Jagga said he felt helpless after this and decided to consume poison. In the video, he was heard crying and expressing concern for the safety of his children.
Jagga claims drugs being sold openly
Jagga alleged that drugs were being sold openly in Namol village. He said he had recorded a video of the alleged drug sales and uploaded it on social media. He also claimed that he showed the video to Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira.
According to Jagga, when he tried to show the video to Minister Aman Arora during the inauguration programme, he was not allowed to meet the minister and was instead directed to the DSP.
He claimed that after receiving no action from the police, he called a village panchayat meeting.
Allegations against AAP Sarpanch
Jagga alleged that after the video went viral, the AAP-linked village sarpanch, Sukhchain Singh alias Sukki, came to his house carrying a revolver.
He claimed the sarpanch threatened him, forced him to delete the video and damaged the CCTV cameras installed at his home.
Jagga said he handed over the DVR and other evidence to the police, but alleged that the police later told him that the DVR was empty and did not take further action.
According to the account, people noticed Jagga consuming poison and tried to stop him, but he had already swallowed a significant amount.
When people asked him why he had taken the step, he allegedly said he was fed up with the drug trade in his village and felt that nobody was listening to his complaints.
Jagga also claimed that he had installed CCTV cameras outside his house after allegedly seeing drug sales taking place nearby. He said the cameras had captured evidence, but alleged that the sarpanch later damaged the cameras and DVR.
The AAP sarpanch has denied Jagga's allegations, calling them baseless. He said an investigation is underway and that he would comment after the facts are established.
