Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone make first public appearance after extortion threat in Mumbai
PTC Web Desk: Just days after an alleged extortion threat shook their household, Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone made a calm and confident public appearance in Mumbai. The couple stepped out under tight security to attend a special event supporting Deepika’s father, badminton legend Prakash Padukone.
According to reports, Ranveer Singh received an extortion threat via WhatsApp, prompting authorities to increase security outside their residence. Despite the unsettling incident, the actor-couple chose to focus on family and showed their solidarity by attending the event titled “Beyond Winning: What Sports Cultivate in Children.” The session, held at an international school in Mumbai, centered on how sports play a vital role in shaping young minds and building character.
Prakash Padukone participated in a thought-provoking panel discussion about youth development through sports. Deepika and Ranveer were seen seated in the audience, listening attentively. They were joined by Ranveer’s mother, Anju Bhavnani. In some moments from the event that quickly went viral online, Deepika was also spotted sharing the stage with actor Sonam Kapoor.
Deepika turned heads in a graceful all-white outfit. She wore a kaftan-style kurta layered over a matching slip and paired it with elegant pants. Crafted from rich Chanderi silk, the ensemble beautifully blended comfort with traditional charm. Ranveer complemented her look in a sharp all-black outfit, featuring a tailored blazer with notch lapels, padded shoulders, and a sleek fit.
On the professional front, Ranveer Singh is set to enthrall fans with 'Dhurandhar 2' on March 19 which is directed by Aditya Dhar. The film is the sequel to the action entertainer which was released on December 5, 2025. The film made huge success at the box ofice collection which also star Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi.
On the other hand, Deepika Padukone will be seen alongwith Shah Rukh Khan in 'King'.
